In order to provide you with the most accurate information possible, I will only be touching on schools within my service areas. These schools are located on the West side of the island and include a mix of both public and private schools.
As a parent myself, selecting a school was no easy task. Like all parents we had specific concerns and requirements we were seeking when selecting a school. It is important to understand what options are available for your family when considering an area to live in. It is my hope that I can provide a collection of simplified information & resources for you to help you with your research. Please note I did not touch on post-secondary education. Only Pre-K through grade 12.
Outlined below are a few of the Island’s schools. Please note that this list is subject to change as new schools may open and some may close. It is important to check the enrollment cut-offs for most schools. If you are applying for financial, each program will have its own additional cut off dates. Many schools fill up fast and waitlists are not uncommon. My advice is to be as proactive as possible. Start looking into enrollment or changes the year prior if possible. If you are certain of a school of choice. Connect with them, do a site visit, and lock in your spot.

Central Kona & surrounding areas
As of April 2024, the population of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii was 19,713 according to Wikipedia. This is an increase from the 2010 census, which recorded a population of 11,975. Kailua-Kona is a tourism hub on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii, and has a small-town feel despite the many cruise ship tourists and seasonal residents

As of 2023, the population of South Kohala, Hawaii is 24,426. The population of Kailua-Kona, which is adjacent to South Kona, was 19,713 in 2020.
