This historic town pronounced similar to (Ha Vie),  rests in the green northern tip of the island, was once the busy hub of North Kohala's sugar industry. Beyond Hawi is the town of Kapa'au, home of the original King Kamehameha I. Continuing down Highway 270 and you will find the end of the road and the beautiful Pololu Valley. This area is also know as the "turn around" point for the annual IRONMAN (tm) World championship held every October. Beyond Hawi's historic charm you will find many beautiful properties ranging in a variation of sizes.
